This was the perfect blog post to be preparing while the election results started coming in. Why? Because this family gives me hope and makes me beyond happy. They are all that is good in this country. Knowing that there are people like this who work hard, have strong faith, are raising a strong family, strengthening marriage, and spreading joy gives me hope and faith in the future. I have never left a session with this family without feeling more happy than I went into it. The hello hugs and goodbye hugs from these kids are so sweet. And after every shoot with the Nielson family, I always tell Cameron, “Let’s move to Willcox!”
I met the Nielson’s a few years back as new clients, and they are now sweet friends. I adore their kids and secretly
stalk watch Brad and Tracy for fun date night ideas (they are date night champs!). This shoot was fun, but was made extra special when Tracy pulled out her phone to show me her discovery that day. Through the “On This Day” app Tracy realized that by coincidence exactly a year earlier we were taking family pictures together. But by an even bigger coincidence, 9 years earlier Tracy and Brad were at that very spot taking their engagement photos! How cool is that?! Totally not planned at all.
Tracy is such a sweet mom. I love watching her with her kids! She’s even keel, fun, happy, and beautiful! It’s always so fun to get a chance to visit with her as we do the shoot!
Brad knows how to work the photo shoot. He is the chief entertainer to get the kids to look towards me and smile. He runs and tickles, he tackles, he wrestles, he snuggles. This dad is well loved, and makes the shoot so much fun for all involved!
Baby Kate was not about to stay put no matter where we put her. She would hit the ground and crawl away as fast as she could as soon as she got put down. We literally had a second or two between Mom or Dad setting her down and running out of the picture and when Kate was gone. She’s a girl on a mission!
I always look forward to my time with these guys! It’s a treat every single time. Tracy and Brad are fabulous together, and are raising such a great bundle of kids. And I already miss Emmitts hugs!
