Flowers by Ashlee || Vendor Spotlight

In September a friend and I organized a styled shoot in Silver City, NM. It was such a fun chance to meet some new creatives in the wedding industry, and to shoot with photographer friends old and new! And if you’re wondering…nope, you haven’t seen those styled shoot pictures up here on the blog yet. We’re saving the mass until Trisha hears back about publication.

But I want to pull out a few of those today to introduce you to one of the amazing ladies that helped bring this all to life. Ashlee Baird, with Flowers by Ashlee, was our florist and did the most spectacular job bringing Trisha’s design dreams to life. Can’t you imagine the above photo at a sweet and intimate backyard wedding?! Gorgeous!

Let me use Ashlee’s own words to start out telling you about her!

“I’ve been married for a little over 5 years now! We have a 2 year old and one on the way! I’m a military spouse, so my living situation is constantly changing and out of my hands, but I really love it and actually get nervous about my husband getting out of the military and finding a permanent place to live, haha. I LOVE adventures and going places off the beaten path. My husband and I love to find hole-in- the-wall and quirky/obscure places to explore. Most days you can find me sneaking in shows on Bravo…any of the Real Housewives is pretty much my jam ;)”

And they do like adventures! Her husband and adorable daughter came with her for the styled shoot and they set up camp nearby. Literally, set up camp! They pitched a tent and stayed just around the corner from where we did the styled shoot!

Her favorite color is teal, and Mexican food is their jive. “We don’t go too long in between Mexican for dinner.” I can get behind that. It’s the best!!

When I asked about a silly quirk (because we all have them and it’s fun!), she said “Toilet paper always has to come over the top! I’ve been known to change it if it’s backwards…even at someone else’s house!”

Ashlee is just as sweet and fun as could be! So now that you know a little more about her, let me show you some of her work from the Styled Shoot!

She pulled up with buckets and buckets of flowers. It smelled HEAVENLY!! Watching the process from taking the loose florals at the beginning to getting the finished products was fascinating! She’s so good at this!

Ashlee’s business is Flowers by Ashlee, and she’s been working in floral design and weddings for 7 years, 5 of those being freelance.

She got an associates degree in Floral Design from BYU-Idaho and bachelors in Hospitality Management from UNLV. She said, “I worked at a venue in Utah in between semesters designing and setting up weddings and fell in love! I also worked in the MGM floral department during New Years Season one year and helped with floral for about 6 of the hotels on the strip in Vegas. I also worked in the Aria floral department for a little bit after I graduated. I love doing all kinds of events but my favorite is weddings, by far!”

Her vision and skills are phenomenal! If you are in New Mexico and need a florist for anything, she’s your gal! Sweet, talented, knowledgeable, awesome! Ashlee and her family have only lived in New Mexico for a few months, but she’s already working to showcase her skills and I know it won’t be long before she has requests all over the state!

Where can you find her?!
