Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Badlands?! And The Academy?! And meeting up with other photographers?! A lot. Probably as much as I love pie or prickly pear. So when I had the chance to combine all three, I was dancing with excitement!
The story of how I “met” Meghan is funny! I love it! She was taking senior pictures for a girl and wanted to use the trees in our yard. So they came and knocked on our door to ask permission and no one answered. After a minute or two they decided to just grab the shots really fast. Just as she was telling her friend, “It’d be really awkward if they drove up all the sudden!” Cameron drove up with the kids. She started apologizing and Cameron said, “Don’t worry about it! My wife’s a photographer too, we totally get it. Did you get all the shots you want? Go finish up, you’re good!” Cameron told me about it later and we laughed. We do totally get it! Meghan and I started chatting and the idea of a sweetheart session came up. We were all totally on board! With my Academy classes, I was in need of some models to practice on so that I could submit some assignments, so it all worked out perfectly! And then when she brought up the Badlands as their location I did my happy dance! This was going to be awesome!
Meghan is so bubbly, bouncy, and full of life and Scotty adores her. These two have been dating since the middle of high school and have such a beautiful and fun relationship! We tramped around the Badlands, climbed some hills, visited, laughed, and had a grand time! I can’t wait to get together with these two again in the future!
That spring wind…it’s rough to work in, but man it can make some super fun hair pictures!!
See her cute foot pop there? It’s totally what she does naturally and it’s so fun!
This shot feels so “Man From Snowy River” to me! Any one else?!
Meghan and Scotty, thank you so much for coming out and spending the evening with me! I loved visiting with you both and spending time out in the Badlands together! Can’t wait for lunch!
