Nick and Cheyann were married in the sweetest backyard wedding in Casa Grande, AZ. Their classy country wedding was full of friends and family, and I loved every minute! I have been looking forward to this wedding for a while now and was so excited to finally get to meet both Nick and Cheyann.
I had never met either of them, but from the moment I walked into the bridal house (they rented a house for the day for the bridal party to all be together to get ready in!), I was greeted with a huge smile and a hug. Cheyann was so sweet and kept asking if I needed a drink or anything. She chatted and smiled and laughed, and it was so much fun to see the love she had for everyone there, and the love they returned. I felt right at home, and loved being there with all the girls!
Nick and Cheyann’s love story is just as sweet as they are. They met in Junior High, and Nick was Cheyann’s first boyfriend, but “because we were just little kids we broke up because it was summer time.” One day while on a road trip, Cheyann was telling Nick fun facts and got on the subject of penguins. One of the facts she told him was that a Penguin will search his entire island for the perfect pebble to give to their soul mate. Little did she know that Nick tucked that piece of information away for a special day. While on a family vacation in San Diego for his nephew Zev’s 2nd birthday they decided to take a walk on the beach after dinner just at sunset. After getting to the shipwrecked boats on shore, Nick turned to Cheyann and told her that ever since the day she had told him about the penguins and their perfect pebble he had been looking for her perfect pebble. Nick finally found it in his grandpa’s favorite rock that he had with him everyday until the day he passed, and now he wanted his sweetheart to have it. These two pack so much meaning and love into every detail!
The wedding day started at the two rented houses, one for the girls and one for the guys. The energy at each was so fun and exciting. Some nerves, but mostly excitement and joy! After meeting the bridesmaids and getting a huge hug from Cheyann, I started in on the details. Guys, I stopped in my tracks when I saw her dress. It is gorgeous! I loved the light champagne tones, the soft tulle layers, and the gorgeous bodice!
I’ve seen cowboy boots at weddings, but I’ve never seen such CUTE bridal boots as these!! I LOVE the cutout detail and secretly (or not so secretly!) want a pair now!
Every room of the house was bustling and full of gorgeous girls helping each other get ready. It was so fun to be there in the midst of it all!
Cheyann’s final preparations were done at her cousin’s house, where the wedding was held. The gorgeous white bedroom was such a stunning place to get all the final touches in place!
Over at the groom’s rented getting ready house, things were moving right along! Nick, his groomsmen, and his family all were there to help him get ready and hang out. I loved the details on his boots, and love that his parents helped get the final touches all put together for their son’s wedding!
P.S. Didn’t my Second Shooter, Deborah, get some great Groom shots?! So grateful for her and her help
Nick and Cheyann were very careful to not see each other before the wedding. They wanted to have the traditional moment of seeing each other down the aisle for the first time and it was sweet watching them steer clear of each other to keep that moment’s surprise. However, Cheyann and her Dad did share a First Look, and it was tender and sweet! I loved their emotions and the hugs!
Finally it was time for the ceremony to start. I love watching grooms come in with their Mothers. It’s always so sweet and touching!
This little guy just had had enough, but oh he made everyone smile!
These two are naturals. Natural together and natural in front of the camera. They were just comfortable, and I loved every minute with them. Their smiles were genuine, their embraces lingering, and their laughs were so fun and contagious!
Both of the families pulled together to make such a gorgeous reception and delicious meal! The wedding cookies on each table were perfectly flakey, the chile was out of this world, and the set up was comfortable and arranged so nicely!
This little guy was adorable. He posed all night trying to get in photos, and even told me that I needed to save him a dance. He cracked me up!
Nick and Cheyann’s first dance was gorgeous and so touching. Nick wrote and recorded their first dance song as a surprise for Cheyann, and it was beautiful. It had many around the dance floor tearing up!
And then came the Daddy Daughter dance, and I got super emotional. This was the first wedding I was at where a bride danced with her Dad to the same song that I danced to with my Dad for my wedding. “Daddy’s Hands” gets me every time, and watching their sweet interactions got the tears flowing fast!
Could you get a cuter Bouquet and Garter couple?! Oh my gosh, they were adorable!!
Nick and Cheyann, your wedding was absolutely stunning! From the moment I arrived I felt like one of the family. The love you show each other and everyone around you is inspiring. I went home with sore cheeks from grinning all night! How you make people feel says so much about who you are, and even just spending that one day with the two of you, I know you leave joy and love everywhere you go. Thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful day! I can’t wait to see what paths you to walk together!
