One thing I LOVE about the bridal details, is that those special and simple items are some of the biggest ways for a bride to individualize a wedding. From the style of shoes, to the extra family heirlooms she carries, to ways she memorializes family members. Every bride thinks about their dress and flowers, but today I wanted to show some of the extra bridal details you might consider if you are looking for a way to personalize your wedding!
Whether you are trading out moccasins for heels, a nosegay bouquet rather than a trendy large bushy bouquet, a tea length dress, or a dress with turquoise trim, these unexpected details make such a pop and statement!
A Ring Box
There are so many options out there for ring boxes from Mrs. Boxes, to antique glass ring cases, to custom wood log ring boxes. They make photos so pretty and give you such a great wedding detail to decorate your home with and hand down.
Many times this is something I keep my eye out for at your venue and getting ready location, but sometimes brides bring items of their own. A peach from Grandma’s tree outside, a bulb crate from an uncles flower farm, or even Arizona citrus from a nearby tree!
The Family Bible
Some couples receive a gorgeous Family Bible at their wedding, or are given an old family bible as an heirloom. These are such beautiful sentimental details to capture!
His and Hers Glasses
From shot glasses, to champagne flutes, to old-fashioned Coca-Cola glasses, to beer steins, these fun glasses can be so fun on the wedding day!
A CHANGE OF SHOES
Not everyone digs a day in heels, and many brides lately have a special extra pair of shoes for later in the day. Whether they are flats that match your heels, adorable rain boots, or sole-less sandals, it’s always fun to capture them. They are just as big a part of your wedding as your fancy shoes!
Necklaces, personalized bags, candles, soaps, cupcakes, you name it! Bridesmaid gifts are so fun and unique from wedding to wedding!
Family Heritage Items
One of my brides this year had two letters waiting for her, written by her grandmothers for her wedding day. These were extra special as one of the sweet women who’d been such an influence in her life was not longer living.
She also picked out one of her Grandma’s handkerchiefs to carry with her. It was so sweet!!
Another sweet bride carried a locket with photos of her late father on her bouquet. It was such a beautiful detail and added so much meaning!
While the plastic hangers that dresses come on do the job, they aren’t very picturesque! For just a few bucks you can pick up a nice looking wooden hanger at Target or Walmart, or if you’re looking for something a bit more dressed up there are amazing creatives on etsy who can make you a personalized hanger like the one above!!
There are so many options available to brides to help them personalize their wedding through extra bridal details! I loved how each of these details added to the weddings they were in!
