Peter and Samantha’s wedding at The Cabins on Strawberry Hill in Strawberry, AZ was just about as picture perfect as is possible! It was a full on celebration at every turn! With the most gorgeous floral arrangements made with Sola wood flowers, the simple but stunning bridesmaid dresses, and the serene mountain setting, I had a continuous grin on my face.
The families and bridal party had been at the Cabins for a few days before the ceremony started for a family reunion and the wedding party olympics. By the time the wedding came around, the bridesmaids and groomsmen were a solid team and had so much fun the whole day! I don’t know if I’ve seen a more cohesive and fun-loving wedding party!!
The day started with a calm excitement that grew all day, exploding into the secret flash mob on the dance floor at the reception. Every bit of the day was full of the most amazing energy!
You are going to love the bride and bridesmaid shoes! So cute, perfect for fall, and they fit the theme beautifully! I need to go find me a pair now!
These girls were so sweet, supportive, helpful, and fun. From the olympics the day before they had inside jokes, a team cheer, and were so good to each other. Go Team Squirrel!
The day was full of gifts! Peter and Sam are so thoughtful to each other! This beautiful watch was one of Sam’s gifts to Peter, and it was an instant hit!
How about that boutonniere?! Stasha, the planner and florist, did the most amazing job with all the decor and details!!
For the First Look we switched things up from the normal way. Once we had Samantha in place, glowing in the sunlight, we took a few shots of exactly what Peter’s first view of his bride would be, and gosh she was radiant!
Peter and Samantha had decided that the day of their wedding they wouldn’t kiss until they were officially husband and wife, and it was so sweet! Their snuggles and embraces before the ceremony were full of emotion and excitement!
Check out those bouquets! Seriously, Stasha is AMAZING!
One other cool tid-bit about the bouts…they were magnetic!! Pure genius!
Peter’s final set of gifts for Samantha was adorable and sweet! A blanket with Sam’s new initials monogrammed on, to their first Christmas ornament, and a locket with a photo of the two of them with Sam’s sweet Mojo pup.
And finally it was Time! Nestled under the autumn leaves and with the cabins providing the cutest corridor, Peter and Sam said, “I do!”
For their unity ceremony, they did something I’d never seen before and I loved it! Each took a different color of paint and poured it down a pallet with their initials on it. I loved the words of the officiant, Peter’s Dad, at this point. He talked about how there would be places where the colors would be separate and places where colors would mix. There would be parts of the wall hanging that they would love how it turned out and parts they weren’t as fond of. Parts would be clear and parts would be covered in paint. But when you step back and look at the pallet as a whole you see a beautiful work of art. What a perfect analogy for marriage!
We couldn’t have asked for prettier light that evening! The autumn glow was absolutely perfect!
Peter and Sam had the cutest entrance routine! Everything they did was full of personality and fun!
Dinner was AMAZING. I was supposed to be on Day 2 of carb free eating, and I held strong until I saw what was for dinner. But carbs don’t count at weddings, right?! Right! Holy smokes it was so so SO good. I think the Sweet Potato Pie was my favorite! No! The mushrooms! No! The pasta. I think it all was my favorite.
After the toasts the bridesmaids had such a fun flash mob dance all planned and everyone loved it! They did absolutely fantastic!
At the end, Peter joined them on the dance floor and the flash mob slowly whittled down to just Peter and Sam for their first dance.
Peter and Sam, thank you so much for inviting me into such an amazing day and into such a sweet season of your life! I have loved you guys from the first time we talked and this whole experience has been such a joy for me. I loved seeing the respect and care your friends and family have for you, and the love that you return to them. There was no doubt that everyone there loves you immensely, and that was the sweetest feeling! I would do this all over and over again, it was such a dream!
