Tevor and Shannon drove up the mountain a week before their Mt. Graham Engagement Session to find the perfect spot for pictures full of light and autumn leaves. It was a bend in the road past the normal weekend mountain traffic, and absolutely perfect. Once off the mountain they emailed me and let me know about the spot they found and were so excited! I’m always up for shooting in new locations and couldn’t wait to see it!
From the moment Shannon and Tevor pulled up I knew this was going to be amazing to get to work with them. She hopped out of the truck and was so warm and sweet right away. While Tevor got the last touches in the store, we visited about them, their horse, and the mountain. They’d spent all morning cleaning up their faithful gelding to make him picture perfect and man he was ready to rock n’ roll!
Following them up the mountain was so fun. I didn’t know the exact spot, so every turn I got to wonder, “Is this it?!” and it just got better and better as we climbed the mountain. One thing I love about that mountain, is that I could do a Mt. Graham Engagement Session for 18 weekends in a row and every one of them would look different. From desert on up to thick tall pines, that mountain has everything!
Finally we turned the corner and all pulled off. In the week since they had visited and the trees had been full of vibrant autumn leaves the temperatures and wind had changed enough that there was hardly a leaf left on any tree! But that did mean that the ground was blanketed in a fresh, soft, orange carpet of beautiful leaves which is always fun! We walked in to find a beautiful (and warm!) shaft of sunlight and dove right into photos.
“You’re going to have to tell us what to do! We’re pretty simple!”
And you know what? They were simply AWESOME! So natural, relaxed, connected, and calm. Always characteristics I love about my Prickly Pear VIPs!
I don’t remember what Tevor or I said or did right at this point to get this reaction, but it couldn’t have been more perfect! Shannon has the cutest laugh!
After getting to meet Shannon, I’m almost regretting cutting my hair! Isn’t her hair glorious?!?!
Shannon and Tevor, I cannot wait for your beautiful wedding and to meet the rest of your families! I loved every minute there on the mountain with you both and smile every time I think about you two. I am beyond honored to get to walk with you guys in this season of your life!
