101 Things in 2018

Nine years! This list is a tradition that has been going on for nine years now!! That’s crazy! I’m going to have to think of something big to commemorate that next year for the 10th year. For nine years now I have been making “101 Things” lists.

I’ve never been one to make a big New Year’s Resolution. It doesn’t stick for me and it just seemed a little boring. Only one goal for the year? What if I finished that goal quickly? If my interests change, what then? What if I just didn’t do it?

So I realized instead of one big resolution, I’d make a bunch of little ones. And then it’s a game each year.  Can I check off more than last year? How fast can I get my first 10 checked off? Will I ever have a year that’s 100%?!

These goals span business and personal aspects of my life. They span health and mental wellness. They span motherhood and wife-life. Some are easy and some are going to be tough. And some bigger goals I’ve broken down into baby steps. Because I’ve learned that this list is a really effective way to break goals down into bite sized chunks!

Through the year I keep track of how I’m doing over on my 101 Things page here on the blog so that I (or you, but mostly for me) can see what I’ve done and what I still need to do, as well as to be able to click through to see each year’s list!

It’s one of my favorite yearly traditions!! The first year it took me until the end of February to come up with my list, but it’s super fun! And I can’t wait to do the shoot together!
