Matt and Josie’s Gila Valley LDS Temple Wedding

Matt stood behind the Bell Tower, listening as Josie came up the sidewalk for their First Look. Just as Josie got in place the Bell Tower chimed out and they both grinned. It was the perfect moment! As Matt her Josie call his name, he came around the corner and his jaw dropped. It was only seconds later that he was running to her and wrapping her up in his arms. It was one of the sweetest First Looks ever!

Josie was absolutely gorgeous in her dream dress! She’d had this dress picked out for a few years. While dress shopping for her friends wedding, they found out that this dress was in the store and Hannah insisted that Josie try the dress on before they left just to see if she even liked it. They were there, why not?! (I love sweet friendships!). Later when Matt and Josie became serious, she knew it was time to start looking for that dress. She called the store and looked online and it had been discontinued. She searched stores and online boutiques and finally found one. And it was her size. And in their price range! It was worth the search; it was the perfect dress for her!

These two were so ready and excited for today! From the tooled leather bouquet wrap Josie’s Grandpa made for her, to the florals arranged by Matt’s parents, everything had meaning and love wrapped up into it.

Following their First Look and portraits at the EAC campus, they drove off together to go get married in the Gila Valley LDS Temple! As no photography is permitted inside, LDS couples love having the Temple Exit photographed when they come out as Man and Wife, sealed for Time and All Eternity! These two wanted their Dad’s to open the doors, and it was so sweet!

Racing against the fading light, we walked around the temple to get their Mr. and Mrs. portraits. They have their spot that they always sit at when they’d go for a walk at the Temple, so that is where we headed first!

Josie’s only request for the ring shots was to incorporate Magnolia leaves from the trees on the temple grounds. These symbolic plants and leaves were the perfect touch!

Josie and Matt, along with their friends and family, headed off to the reception as the sunset faded and the temple lights came on. It was perfect!

Matt and Josie, I am so excited for you guys! It’s been a long road to this point and you’ve stuck together, buoyed each other up, and had a lot of fun on the way. You make an amazing pair and I can’t wait to watch the adventures roll on! Love you!
