When I was 17, I went to spend a summer with my cousin and his family just out of Hershey, PA. It was an awesome summer, and I loved the chance to get to know these cousins more. Living on opposite sides of the country I haven’t been able to see them often, so I’m always excited for a chance to meet up! Kailey was 4 years old when I went to PA to visit. And now here she is getting married and I’M the one with the 4 year old!
Daniel and Kailey’s wedding day was beautiful; the perfect summer temperature despite the smoke and inversion going on! It was so fun to get to meet Kailey at her hotel room and get to chat and have fun while she got ready. It was a sweet part of the day! Just a few minutes after I got to the hotel there was a knock on the door and Rhett and Missy (Kailey’s parents/my cousin) were there! I always love weddings but it’s definitely extra special when it’s a sweet family wedding and I get to see these cousins I don’t get to see often!
Kailey’s jewelry was an assortment of beautiful pieces gifted to her by her Daniel. The Aquamarine necklace, Tanzanite bracelet, and gorgeous earrings were a stunning combination! Especially with her jeweled belt on the dress, the beaded edge of the veil, and her Badgley Mischka sandals!
Their ceremony was held in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It’s huge and absolutely beautiful! It was so sweet to get to go in and be at the Sealing (the wedding ceremony). I always love hearing the reminders of how much God loves us, how the Atonement can strengthen marriages, and as the Bride and Groom make covenants to God and each other I love to be reminded of those same promises to God and each other that Cameron and I made “all those years ago”.
Following the sweet ceremony, it was time for the Temple Exit. I love that there is a designated door and area for family to gather out of the way of the regular entrance. It’s always so fun to watch the couple come out as Husband and Wife and for all their friends and family to greet them!
Husband and Wife for Time and all Eternity
And then it was time for their portraits! I love this chance to walk around the Temple with a couple and to see their joy and excitement (and to watch the nerves slip away more and more). Kailey and Daniel were so sweet and fun!
Kailey is a fellow photographer! It’s always fun to photograph another photographer as they come with their own ideas and make posing so easy! Daniel and Kailey were so easy together and so comfortable!
And then it was time for lunch and a break until it was reception time! I drove up to Salt Lake City to go grab my brother once he was off work and the families picnicked, hiked, and visited until it was time to gather and set up. The reception was held at The Barn at Linden Nursery. It is such a beautiful setting and was the perfect gathering place for friends and family to come and celebrate together. From the simple and beautiful decor, to the AMAZING dessert table, to the Italian Cream Sodas, every detail fit together perfectly!
Daniel’s family came prepared to do a string trio and later a string quartet. They were phenomenal and added such a classy and elegant touch to the wedding! I loved when they pulled out Ashokan Farewell! Such a beautiful song! (It’s sister song, “The Lover’s Waltz” is actually mine and Cameron’s song!)
Daniel and Kailey spent much of the summer apart, so they had this cute letterboard sign going to countdown the days. I LOVED that they brought it to the wedding!
Daniel and Kailey are not big on kissing in front of other people. All day they were playfully teased about their 1 second kisses. We all cracked up when at the end of the parents dance when Rhett pulled Missy in for a 10 second kiss!
Daniel and Kailey, you guys are so cute together! I loved getting to be there with you for your wedding day. Kailey, I’ve missed your family so much through the years and loved getting to come back and see you all! Daniel, you and your family are so sweet and kind! I loved getting to meet you all. Welcome to our crazy family!!
